Online article, ‘De Eetbare Stad‘ (in Dutch) by Floor Tinga, journalist, critic, and organiser of projects in public space.
Based on an interview between Wietske Maas & Matteo Pasquinelli and Floor Tinga about the motivations and practical experiments of urbanibalism. Urbanibalism as a new culinary materialism of the city and means to cut through the ‘urban paradox’*.
This article appeared in Dutch journal S+RO (journal for urban planning) on 29th of October 2010 as part of an issue on cities and food.
*Urban paradox is coined by architect and writer Carolyn Steel in her book ‘Hungry City’: “….the fact that although most of us live in cities, in a deeper sense we really dwell on the land, relying as much on the natural world as our ancestors did. The ‘paradox’ comes from the fact that we fail to recognise this.”
